Having manufactured the world’s largest FRP vessel, no project or piece of equipment is too large for Augusta Fiberglass. Custom Fabricated Process Vessel for the Chemical Processing Industry
A customer in the chemical industry needed support in developing a tank to store a mica slurry at their New York facility. Once the customer supplied us with their specifications we began the design process. We determined that this application was best suited for a steel lined, fiber reinforced plastic, and isophthalic resin tank.
We fully engineered the tank including materials selection and calculations and submitted a full set of CAD drawings, material cut sheets, as well as resin recommendations for approval. The tanks which measured 19′ in length, with an inside diameter of 10′ where manufactured in our facility utilizing our state of the art resin/glass application capabilities. The finished product met all applicable ASTM and NBS standards, and featured a custom color gel coat with a UV-9 inhibitor. Upon installation we supplied the customer with a certificate of proper installations as well as CoCs, testing certs, QC reports, and laminate samples.
